Scenic Whale Watching Flight - From the Air, you get the Highest chances to see the whales!

Enjoy a panoramic Whale flight, with stunning scenic views along the spectacular Kaikoura coastline.

View the magnificent Sperm whale in their natural environment. Only from the air do you get to appreciate the full size of the mighty sperm whale.

You also get the chance to see dusky dolphins and other marine life on your flight. After we have found whales we will take you on a scenic flight of Kaikoura and the stunning surrounds that include the high Alpine snow clad Kaikoura mountains, and to the east the deep blue Pacific ocean.

Air Kaikoura is a small friendly business which also provides flight training and all our pilots are flight instructors. Our team is enthusiastic about providing our customers with a magical experience of a life time. No guarantees are possible but we have a very high success rate of 95% and are very honest about the chances of finding whales. By booking one of our extended whale flights with us your chances go up dramatically!

  • If your experience is cancelled by the operator (because of the weather or anything else out of your control) you will be entitled to a full refund.

Notes

  • Duration: Flight time: 30 minutes. Please allow for 60 minutes total.

    Our aircraft takes a maximum of SEVEN passengers, this makes it exciting and fun.

    Conditions:Flights are weather dependent and at the pilots discretion.

    Minimum numbers may apply on occasion. Flight confirmed with two passengers, smaller bookings may be wait listed to confirm.

    Maximum weights do apply in small aircraft; if you think you may exceed 120kgs, please contact the operator as they may need to reserve additional seats.

    Location: Air Kaikoura Aero Club is located 6.5km south of Kaikoura township, on State Highway 1.

Awesome

Unser Flug startete 15 Minuten früher als geplant wodurch wir sogar 45 Minuten fliegen durften. Alles in allem kann ich sowohl die Wale, Delfine und die Landschaft als auch der Flug an sich sehr empfehlen! Das Geld lohnt sich in jeder Hinsicht! 100%!Einzigartige Erfahrung!!!

Leider konnten wir auf Grund des Wetters keine Wale entdecken. Dafür konnten wir viele Delphine sehen und es war ein toller Ausblick...und eine schöne Erfahrung

Tolles Erlebnis

Der Pilot war sehr nett und hat uns über die Sicherheitsvorkehrungen aufgeklärt. Auch erzählte er uns etwas über die Wale, welche bisher am meisten gesichtet wurden und woran wir welche erkennen usw. In der Luft haben wir dann lange Zeit keinen Wal gesehen und der Pilot ist extra etwas länger im Kreis geflogen bis ein Buckelwal aufgetaucht ist. Das war echt Klasse! Leider war der Wal nur klein zu sehen, es war aber trotzdem sehr beeindruckend!

Einmalige Erfahrung

Ausgesprochen nette und humorvolle Crew. Etwas kleiner als Wings over Whales, aber gerade das macht so familiär und sympathisch. Hatten das Glück einen Pottwal und über 400 Dusky Delfine zu sehen. Fühlten uns den ganzen Flug über in sicheren Händen und konnten entspannt die Tiere und Landschaft beobachten.
