We were held up, whilst collecting our camper. When I rang and explained we wouldn't make our allotted time they were great and said it wasn't a problem. Great service.
We had a few hours before our flight home and went on an adventure in the Antarctic Centre! It was very informative and full of fun experiences with lots of interactive displays. We tried the snow storm and loved the HD movie about Antarctica. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves snow, learning about nature and adventure!
Our2 boys and I had fun learning about penguins, life on Antartica and discussing with the friendly staff. Patting huskies was a highlight!
Mainly went to take the child but ended up being way more fun for everyone, worth to pay the extra for the rides.

A Unique (and Chilly) Experience
I would tell visitors to Christchurch that this is a necessary activity. We came straight from the airport and they had lockers (for a small fee) which took even my huge case. There was also a free bus (leaving at regular intervals) into the CBD for you and your luggage when you were finished. Penguins, an blizzard experience and museum-style displays. There was a couple of other things you can do if you get the full pass rather than the xpress pass but we did not have time as our plane arrived mid-afternoon.
