Immerse yourself in Weta Workshop's otherworldly film sets on a guided tour through horror, fantasy and sci-fi exhibitions.

Wētā Workshop is a world-renowned creative design and practical effects company that has worked on many famous films and TV series, such as The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Avatar, King Kong and District 9 to name a few!

This tour begins with a behind the scenes peek at the creative process, artistry and craftsmanship that goes into the award-winning work that we do. Enjoy the interactive exhibits and learn about creature building and animatronic construction.

Experiment with an alien autopsy, scream machines, interactive makeup mirrors and learn our secret fake blood recipe.

Tour through a horror film set "Fauna" where you become a character in this fictionalised horror film and can squeeze through the lair of a monster... if you dare! This section can be skipped for those with small children and the faint of heart.

The second part of your tour will transport you into a fantasy world full of wonder featuring a river and towering castle. Learn about what goes on behind the scenes of designing and building sets to bring fantasy films to life.

Concluding our tour in another galaxy, an exciting look into how an intergalactic world is designed and created. Watch as a robot comes to life right before your eyes and enjoy our atmospheric multimedia show that will have you immersed in the genre of sci-fi.

    Please note that Weta Workshop Unleashed includes some horror elements.

    These may be disturbing for children, or unsuitable for guests with medical conditions aggravated by fright, stress, or lights. Parental guidance is recommended.

    The scariest part (the horror house) is able to be bypassed but the horror section, in general, is not.

    If cancellation is made within 24 hours of arrival, there is no refund available.

    If cancellation is made within 48 hours of arrival, we will refund 50% of the total booking price.

Unreal! One not to miss!

Just amazing. We (family of 4, two teenagers) loved every minute of this. Being able to touch things added hugely to the experience. We so so recommend it. We'd all happily go again - nothing dull about this visit!
