Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland War Memorial Museum tells the story of New Zealand, its place in the Pacific and its people. The Museum is home to millions of objects, is a war memorial for the province of Auckland and holds one of New Zealand’s top three heritage libraries.
With a renowned Māori and Pacific collection, significant natural history resources and major pictorial and military history collections, it holds a special place in the hearts and minds of Aucklanders. The Museum building is one of Auckland’s iconic landmarks and offers unrivalled views of Tāmaki Makaurau.

Secret Museum Tour - Auckland Museum
An interesting experience. Knowledgable guide. Would have liked to have seen and learned more about some of the history of the exhibits that are not usually on display.

Great experience!
The secret museum tour was really interesting! We're glad we went before they close it down for renovations and unsure when/if they will run them again. Definitely recommend going before the end of June if you can.
