This epic guided kayak tour begins at Okahu Bay, just under 10 minutes from downtown Auckland. Your experienced guides will give you a short safety briefing and instructions on how to best operate your kayak before you take to the water on the 75 minute journey to Rangitoto.
You may catch a glimpse of the areas marine life on route including dolphins and penguins. You might even be lucky enough to see the leopard seal that sometimes sleeps on our ramp!
Upon arrival at the island it is a 1 hour walk to the summit of this incredible dormant volcano. You will have the opportunity to take in the Island's amazing geology and flora.
At the summit you’ll get to enjoy outstanding 360 views of Auckland City, the inner harbour and the islands of the vast Hauraki Gulf. Don’t forget your camera as the sunset views are out of this world!

What an experience! Standing on the shore line adrenaline and excitement pumping as in the distance we could see our destination. The kayaking is insane looking at the city in both day time and night time from a kayak is definitely a different perpesctive. We also got to see the Harbour bridge light show! The walk to the summit was breathtaking the views from the top were incredible. This is definitely a trip I would recommend, well worth it! ?
Wow! That was an adventure! The guides were really cool and competent and we all made it to the top of the volcano and back. :) Unfortunately we arrived a little late at Rangitoto so we hurried up to the summit (to see the sunset) and couldn't really enjoy the environment and didn't get to know anything about it from our guide. But the view and the sunset were amazing! My absolute highlight was our kayak tour back underneath the stars and in black water with fluorescent plankton. That was magical!!

Great physically demanding experience
We loved our experience, great team and beautiful views from the top of Rangitoto. Note the physical levels of different people vary so we had to wait for other people quite a bit which resulted in us taking longer to get to the island. Don’t underestimate the currents and winds as well. But overall I am very happy with everything and recommend this trip
