An unforgettable experience kayaking from Auckland's mainland to Rangitoto Island where you will hike to the summit and enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch!
After your safety briefing and paddling instruction, you will kayak across the Waitemata Harbour, meaning ‘sparkling waters’, where you may see wildlife such as Little Blue Penguins and Cooks Petrels.
On arrival at Rangitoto Island, which is the largest and youngest of Auckland’s volcanoes, you will start the 1-hour trek to the summit, viewing the spectacular sites and learning all about the history of the region. Upon reaching the top you will be treated to the finest 360° views that the Auckland region has to offer.
On the return to the water’s edge, a healthy, hearty kiwi lunch will be awaiting you. If time permits, you might even enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea before the gear is packed back into the kayak to head home.
We then kayak back south and arrive safely at St Heliers Bay.
Our Day Sea Kayak tour to Rangitoto is anexciting, action-packed and educative day for all!
The half day tour was more than worth it! Kayaking to and from Rangitoto was an experience in itself. Also, the guide was kind enough to give me a lift back to my hostel in Auckland! 5/5 PS: be sure to check the weather forecast, and put on lots of sunscreen!
Definitely something to put on the bucket list and repeat over and over again. It's amazing seeing Auckland from a slightly different vantage point. The tour was amazing. The tour guide was even better!!
Our family of four adults had an excellent time. The booking was easy and accommodating. The pickup was smooth. The instruction was adequate without being time consuming. Then the trip itself was friendly, beautiful, with delicious food and convivial company. We were not used to kayaking for extended time but seemed to be no worse for the wear the next day. We would definitely recommend to active friends.
