Horse Trek - Muriwai Beach Horse Treks
Muriwai Beach Horse Treks offer a truly unique horse trekking experience.
The trek takes you along the picturesque black sands of Muriwai beach on New Zealands West coast and up through the enchanting forestry of Woodhill. Muriwai Beach Horse Treks are located less than 40minutes north west of the Auckland CBD and just a short 15minutes from the end of the North Western motorway.
Muriwai Beach Horse Treks have treks to suit all abilties from beginners to experienced people with horses and ponies to match each riders level. We mostly cater for smaller numbers so if you have the ability to ride faster than a walk we are happy for you to do this. All riders are provided with NZ safety approved helmets and wet weather gear when needed. We are open every day and ride in all weather conditions. For beginners or more novice riders there are instructions on how to ride the horse at the beginning of the ride to make everyone feel comfortable and relaxed for the duration.
Bookings are essential and we cater for both tourists and locals. All our guides are mature, experienced and extremely capable in providing all customers with the best experience possible.
Horseback riding is certainly the best way to experience the exquisite and pristine beach that this part of New Zealand has to offer - and it's loads of fun.

I was very satisfied with this activity. It was one of the thing what I wanted to do in New Zealand definitely, so I am very happy. I prefer to going to the beach, so I wanted to ride on the horse on the beach more longer. Anyway, I had a awesome experience with this!Thank you big mac!

Pleasant and friendly
The 2-hour walk on horses was very lovely. Love all the landscapes we've been led to, esp. Woodhill Forest and the beach. The time spent on the beach could be longer, though. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

great experience
The horses are beautiful and the staff are so friendly and helpful. This was my first ride on a horse so a bit apprehensive but my fears were soon gone as they explained how to ride and helped us get on etc. We then went on an amazing ride along the beach and through the forest, beautiful!. Would recommend it to all, a great experience, thankyou.
