The Hen and Chicken Islands, first sighted and named by James Cook in 1769, are noted for their astounding bird life and marine diversity. Suit up as you arrive at your first diving spot, then splash into clear waters with up with 20 metres of visibility.
Divers of all skill levels can enjoy the calm waters and the abundant marine life around the islands' shores. Discover enormous kelp-covered boulders, nests of crayfish, and colourful shoals of fish like goatfish, blue maomao, red moki, and demoiselles. If you are the hunter gatherer type you can also try your hand at catching crays and taking a feed home for the family. As you explore the underwater landscapes, you may even get the chance to spot native sharks, dolphins, and even whales gliding by!
