Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and hike through beautiful rural farmland and lush native forest in the historic Duder Regional Park on this guided tour.
The first stop of the day will see you exploring the beautiful Maraetai Beach with its calm waters and quaint jetty. It is the perfect spot for a few pics before we head on our way!
Fill your lungs with fresh coastal countryside air as you embark on this guided tour of Duder Regional Park, rich in cultural history dating back to the 1300's when Māori first sailed in. Your knowledgable guide will fill you in about how the land has gone from being a fortified Māori Village to the working farm it is today.
We will walk through the farm with the opportunity to get up close to some of the animals - springtime is always good to see lambs and calves frolicking around! Then hiking up to the highest point - the Oturia Trig - where you are rewarded with stunning views over the ocean, including the Hauraki Gulf a marine park with over 50 islands.
When you are done taking photos and have fuelled up with a cuppa we will head down through the park's native forest which has been preserved for centuries. Your guide will explain to you about the native plants and birds that you will come across.
We then head back to the city along a different route to keep things interesting. Allow 4-5 hours for the whole experience. Pick up at other locations may be available upon request. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when booking.
