An amazing tour

We went on a full day cruise towards Hen & Chicken islands, in short, it was simply an amazing day full of breathtaking moments and sights. Kurt is a wonderful captain & host, very organised, helpful, and just pleasant to be on a cruise with. We are not super experienced with water sports activities, but he explained everything and made it fun and easy. His wife's chocolate brownies, which were part of the lunch, deserve a special mention... I would go on another trip with Eco Gulf Adventures just to have one of those again! The boat is super environmentally friendly too! Which just makes the experience that extra bit special! I could go on and on about the wonderful day we had on the boat, but instead I would really recommend you to go and try it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

Amazing islands experience on Valentine Day 2020

A wonderful and amazing full day trip to snorkel, kayak and swim with variety of sea fishes in a greenish blue ocean water ! Over 8 stingrays in black and one light grey stingray I saw while do snorkelling in a high & narrow sea cave, really unforgettable ! Dolphins ? & seabirds not rare to see! Hope to see whale ? next trip. You definitely won’t miss a chance to have such cool experience in hot hot summer. Solar halo as a credit scenic while heading to Sandspit wharf. So cool ! BRUTAL EXPERIENCE

What started off as an idyllic adventure turned into a terrifying experience. Never thought I would end up with a burst fractured of the L1 vertebrae & a week in the Whangarei Hospital. The incident happened on our return to Sandspit Wharf in high winds and rough waters. We were motoring fast. When asked to slow down, Kurt replied that it wouldn’t make a difference and he continued at top speed. The physical damage I suffered was the result of the boat launching off the crest of a wave, lifting me out of my seat and suspending me in mid-air. I landed with such force on my tailbone you could hear the sound of the vertebra fracturing. I emailed Bookme requesting a refund due to the experience and out of pocket expenses (cab: $300 to get car in Sandspit + overnight hotel $125). Kurt’s response to Bookme was “No refund”.
