Day trip to Rotoroa Island with Fullers360! Explore this island wildlife sanctuary with return ferry from Auckland.
Experience the beauty of Rotoroa Island - a wildlife sanctuary in the Hauraki Gulf, home to some of New Zealand's most endangered native species.
Rotoroa Island is full of fascinating history from the heritage buildings, museum and exhibition centre that tell the tales of the island's past, including being home to New Zealand's first addiction treatment centre.
Perfect for a family day out exploring the stunning walking tracks on the island, relaxing on the secluded beaches and enjoying a picnic.
Rotoroa is a pest-free island covered with native forest and is a haven for native species such as kiwi, tīeke, takahē, pāteke and skinks.
This is probably my favourite motu in Hauraki Gulf. But be aware that the ferry may be cancelled on departing day due to tides. So check before going to the port.
Quick and easy ferry out to the island. We thought it was going to be a long day with the 3 kids in tow, but such a beautiful island paradise with so much to see and do. Loved reading about the history of the island and felt like we were the only ones there most of the time. Walks were mostly manageable with mountain buggy, and we packed with the steep bits. Highly recommend. Tropical island in Auckland!
An amazing experience. Well worth the cost (almost 1/2 the price of Tiritiri Matangi). The guided tour was informative and well put together.
