Get up close and personal with the kings of the jungle right here in Auckland and meet one of the largest big cat species in the world.
Our Lion Experience will take you on a tour to the back of the lion’s enclosure where you will get to go Behind-The-Scenes – It doesn’t get any closer than this!
You will either enter the lion’s realm and assist the keeper in preparing a meal for these majestic animals or help them to set up their behavioural enrichment which helps to create an environment that mimics the animal's wild habitat.

Duration: Approx 1 hour
Days & Times: Thursday and Sundays departing from the Auckland Zoo Info Centre at 1:30pm

Minimum Age: The minimum age for this experience is eight years and if you are under 15 you must be accompanied by a paying adult
Winter Opening Hours: Daily 9:30am – 5pm (1 May to 31 August)
Summer Opening Hours: Daily 9:30am – 5:30pm (1 September to 30 April)
