Raft the legendary "Earthquake Rapids" - a classic New Zealand whitewater raft run though a stunning rain forest.

Highlights

  • Ride down the legendary Buller River Earthquake Rapids, the section with the most whitewater in the Buller Gorge
  • Wild Rivers Rafting, Ltd. is river-guide owned and operated
  • Top qualified guides with combined 28+ years professional guiding on the mighty Buller River
  • Audited and certified by Maritime New Zealand and members of the New Zealand Rafting Association

Join us on a wild ride down the legendary Buller River Earthquake Rapids, the section with the most whitewater in the breath taking Buller Gorge.

Adventurers will experience plenty of white water action. Challenge yourself at the "swim" rapid and the optional 8 metre cliff jump.

First Rafting Trip? - No worries! Your guides will give you full rafting safety instruction and are committed to making your river trip not only safe, but the best experience possible.

Because the Buller River is a large volume wild river with no dams to regulate the flow, the rapid Grade 3 to 4 varies with rainfall. Ask us about the river flow when you book.

Duration: River time 2+ hours. Allow 4 hours total.

Meeting point: Meet your guides on SH 6 at the Iron Bridge between Murchison and Westport. We'll transport you to the river trip start. Please see the map or ask us for directions if unsure.
