Explore this beautiful and historic sheltered bay with lush forest backdrop where Captain Cook once resided. Observe the Oyster Catchers and Weka and have a glance at the many information boards about Captain Cook and the Maori History.
At Tawa Saddle you can take time out to relax and marvel at the pristine scenery that surrounds you, glare at the crystal clear sea waters and let lifes troubles wash away with the tide.
On arrival at Furneaux Lodge a warm welcome awaits you, take time to enjoy the lodge facilities before boarding your vessel for your relaxing journey back to Picton. Upon check in the reservations team will confirm the pick up time from the resort with you and provide you with a map.

Amazing captain and crew in the office. We saw dolphins and stopped so that everyone could see them! Amazing experience all around! No coffee as advertised but that was probably for the best given the upcoming hike! Good to arrive early to suss this out in case you’re a coffee addict like me!
When we read the reviews we were a tad worried by other people’s comments that the walk took too long. This was not the case however it’s a great walk and easy doable even if you are almost 64. However I did feel sorry for other hikers who arrived by a different company later than scheduled and leaving an hour earlier than our boat. It meant they almost ran the first have of the track until they got past all the summits ( low ones) this meant that they were stressed and did not get to enjoy the beautiful part of the track that is virgin forest. Beachcombers were awesome to travel with
