This gorgeous family-friendly destination in Marlborough Sound’s stunning Lochmara Bay truly has it all!

Begin your trip with a relaxing cruise from Picton across the calm clear waters of the Queen Charlotte Sound.

Keep your eyes peeled for marine life and sea birds – we often spot dolphins & little blue penguins en route!

Once you've arrived at Lochmara, you’ll be free to spend your time around the property as you please! There’s something for everyone!

There is plenty to do including native bush trails with interpretation panels on the native flora and fauna, an arts shop, free use of kayaks & stand-up paddleboards, a safe swimming beach and there’s even a café overlooking the water for the perfect place for a drink and bite to eat.

You will also have the opportunity to see the native Kakariki Parakeets, Eels, Kunekune Pigs and Stingrays being fed!

A fun and memorable family day out that the whole family will love and a brilliant way to see this amazing location at your own pace!

 

***Add on Activity- Underwater Observatory***

Get up close and personal to the Marlborough Sounds marine life! Our 40 minute fully guided Underwater Observatory tour is an absolute must-do activity when visiting Lochmara and includes stingray feeding and seaside touch tank. “See below the sea without getting wet.”

  • Reporting time is 15 minutes before the trip, directly to the Lochmara booking office on the Picton waterfront. Corner of Wellington Street and London Quay.

Lochmara

A fantastic day out! Relaxing and fun for the whole family. It was great to be able to use the kayaks and paddle boards. Feeding the stingray was an awesome experience as well.
