Enjoy two world-class exhibitions; Knights of the Sky and Dangerous Skies with this combo entry!
Discover stories of WWI & WWII in these stunning exhibitions at Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre.
The Knights of the Sky exhibition features Sir Peter Jackson’s own collection of World War I aircrafts and artifacts and brings to life the story of aviation in the Great War. The sensational sets were created by the internationally acclaimed talent of WingNut Films and Weta Workshop.
The second exhibition, Dangerous Skies, features stories from World War II, with tales of daring, valour and tragedy stretching from the British Isles to the forests of Germany, an embattled but courageous Russia and the Pacific Islands. One of the star attractions is a Griffon powered Mk.XIVe Spitfire.
The exhibition features stories of female pilots and the Battle of Stalingrad is an immersive experience that is both entertaining and chillingly thought provoking.

I had no idea what to expect but I came out blown away. These exhibitions are amazing and truly world class. Worth the visit if you're in town.
Was a great time learning about the planes & history of the place ☺️
Exceptionally well laid out exhibits, with informative guides on hand to provide additional information. I am not an aviation enthusiast but spent over 2 hours here and would highly recommend it to anyone. The in house cafe is also excellent for a light lunch afterwards.
Thank you, Corinne. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the museum. It is even more meaningful that you are not an aviation enthusiast and still stayed engaged for more than two hours! We appreciate you taking the time to post a review.
This was recommended by an airbnb host so we thought why not! It was excellent. The planes and models were fabulous and so much to learn about the speed of aircraft development as a result of WW1. The models all came from Peter jacksons company and having seen the Gallipoli ex hibition 6 years ago we knew they would be fabulous. It's a little hard to follow the flow but a good afternoon out and a lot of knowledge gained.
Thank you, Patricia! We are so pleased that you enjoyed the museum and appreciate you taking the time to post a review.

Excellent experience!
Awesome exhibits & information, presented in an interesting & engaging way. Peter Jackson & his workers are amazing, creating wonderful life like scenes that present the war stories in such a memorable manner. Will be visiting again as there is so much to learn. Great cafe with plenty of outdoor seating in a lovely setting.
