Join Kaiterteri Kayak for an unforgettable full day kayak adventure exploring the beautiful coastline between Anchorage and Kaiteriteri.
You'll see more of the Abel Tasman National Park from a kayak than any other day trip!
Explore lagoons (if tide permits), paddle with the seals at Adele Island, check out Split Apple Rock, visit Te Pukatea Bay, the Mad Mile and sit back, close your eyes and listen to the abundant birdsong of the Adele Island Wildlife Sanctuary.
Places such as Stilwell Bay are guide-favourites to share with you - we’ll paddle around distinctive and fascinating caves and arches, surrounded by luscious green tree-ferns. The friendly fur seals of Adele Island are in residence all year round and we also pass a couple of Cormorant colonies along the way!
You’ll start your journey with a scenic Sea Shuttle cruise to the heart of the park where you'll start your kayaking experience. We paddle in the same direction as the predominant wind - the sea breeze. This makes for a great day with some opportunities for some great sailing when the weather permits.
This tour requires a reasonable amount of fitness as it is the longest paddling day on the water - our friendly guide will show you the ropes and make sure you are comfortable and confident before heading out on the water!
Duration: 9am - 4:30pm. Total paddling time of 3.5 to 4hrs approximately 12km in distance.
Location: The Kaiteriteri beach base on Kaiteriteri-Sandy Bay Road.
We had a great day our guide was very informative and friendly he was very knowledgable about the wildlife and the area which was really interesting Would definately do this trip again highly recommend
Guided by professional and relaxed guys we had such a fine day on the water. We were only 6 people, weather was perfect. Saw seals with their babies, different birds and a stingray, went to beaches and caves. Coffee break and lunchtime included. On our way back we pulled the kayaks together and used a sail. Full recommendation to try it out!
We had a great time on the Astrolabe tour, it was very well organised and a great way to see the abel tasman coast! As an added bonus we were lucky to see dolphins!

Brilliant Kayak Experience
we were lucky to have superb weather and a very informative & enthusiastic tour guide (thankyou Pandy) . The highlight was the numerous & upclose viewings of the seals and the cute pups. The full-day trip was a perfect amount of time to relax & take in the crystal clear water and get in some decent bird watching. Not too sure about the ‘team-building-sailing activity but a good laugh nonetheless. Would do again.
