The tour was a great way to see Hobbiton and Waitomo caves from Auckland without having to rent a car. The lunch at Hobbiton was surprisingly good, a full buffet with many different options. All of the guides were knowledgeable and very friendly.
Hobbiton was so magical, and the lunch Buffett was the cherry on top! We loved the bus driver, she was very fun & informative. We learned a lot at the caves and had a good time. You walk through them and end on a ~5 minute boat ride in the dark to see the glow worms. I recommend this tour!
Amazing, from start to finish. To start with, Alexia our driver and guide for the day was AMAZING, so much knowledge, such a nice voice, great driver, overall really nice person. Next Hobbiton.. If you are a fan or not, hobbiton is great. The buffet there is the best i ever had during any organised tour which included a buffet. The waitomo cave, was something different but nice as well... Highly recommend... While in auckland, this tour is a must. Reserve tru bookme.com because you will get the best price.
Drive out was a bit brutal, as it was 2 hrs of the driver providing a history lesson on New Zealand’s top 5 exports, native vs. non-native tree species, etc. It was 8am, so I was hoping he would pop in a LOTR movie and get the nerds psyched up for the tour. Hobbiton was obviously the highlight of this trip, and it was a very cool experience. Food was pretty good as well. The Waitomo glow worm caves were never our primary interest, but it was only about an hour further to get to them. Neat experience, but the tour is fairly short, especially the boat ride that only lasted maybe 5 minutes through what I would guess was about 50 meters of cave. Drive back was about 3 hours of mostly total silence...no movies played on the large screen monitors. That being said, the bus was comfortable and the trip overall was a fun experience.

Great amazing day full of emotions :)
Hobbiton is a magical awesome place, wish we could stay longer there. The lunch was great, the complimentary beer as well (we tried ale and stout, both excellent). They keep the place looking super authentic. Our guide on the bus drive to there gave us various curious details about NZ and the local nature, people, industry, etc., it was really useful. Waitomo cave then was also magnificent magical place, better they dont allow photos inside, as it would ruin the emotion and experience. Lovely place, would recommend it, as well as the whole tour in general!
